SEC Injury Reports Highlight Key Absences
The SEC released injury reports ahead of this weekend’s slate as No. 5 Georgia meets Florida Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET in Jacksonville on ABC; Georgia coach Kirby Smart said Florida remains competitive despite recent turmoil and this will be the last Jacksonville meeting until 2028. Georgia’s availability report lists wide receivers Colbie Young (leg fracture) and Talyn Taylor, tight end Ethan Barbour (ankle injury requiring surgery) and safety Kyron Jones as out, with Noah Thomas expected to see increased targets. Florida’s initial list shows RBs Treyaun Webb and Ja’Kobi Jackson, WRs Vernell Brown III and Aidan Mizell, DLs Caleb Banks and LJ McCray, and DBs Aaron Gates and Dijon Johnson unavailable, while RB Duke Clark and DB Javion Toombs are questionable. In Fayetteville, Arkansas hopes RB Cameron Ball will be ready while David Oke remains out and three receivers (Ismael Cisse, Monte Harrison, Jalen Brown) are out for the season; Mississippi State is managing injuries across the offensive line, defensive front and secondary with the possible return of Bothwell to help the run game. Louisville’s first report for its road trip to Virginia Tech lists backup RB Duke Watson as questionable and DE Wesley Bailey as recently listed questionable but active, while Virginia Tech is missing starters including safety Quentin Reddish and guard Montavious Cunningham; updated reports are expected before kickoff.
