Kim Sei-young ends five-year LPGA title drought with BMW Championship win in South Korea
South Korean golfer Kim Sei-young ended a five-year title drought by winning the BMW Ladies Championship held at Pine Beach Golf Links in South Korea, marking her 13th LPGA Tour victory and her first on home soil. She led the tournament wire-to-wire, finishing with a four-round total of 24-under-par 264, and secured a four-stroke victory over Japan's Nasa Hataoka. Kim, inspired by Tiger Woods' tradition of wearing red on Sundays, maintained her lucky red trousers and overcame a bogey early in the final round by making six birdies, including three consecutive ones. The win not only broke her title drought since her last victory at the 2020 Women's PGA Championship but also contributed to a record-setting 27 different winners on the LPGA Tour this season. Other notable performances included France's Celine Boutier and South Korea's Kim A-lim sharing third place, and defending champion Hannah Green of Australia tying for fifth alongside American Yealimi Noh. The victory was emotionally significant for Kim, who expressed gratitude for the support of fans and the special meaning of winning in front of family and friends on home soil.
