Au'Tori Newkirk Commits to UNC Football Program

Quarterback Au'Tori Newkirk from Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia, has officially committed to play college football for North Carolina, following an offer from new head coach Bill Belichick. The three-star prospect chose the Tar Heels over other offers, including those from Temple and Toledo. Newkirk has been a standout player, leading his team to back-to-back undefeated seasons and earning VHSL Offensive Player of the Year honors, amassing a total of 8,838 passing yards and 114 touchdowns throughout his high school career. His senior year alone saw him throw for 3,802 yards and 50 touchdowns, while also contributing 603 rushing yards. Newkirk joins four-star quarterback Bryce Baker as part of UNC's 2025 recruiting class, which has faced challenges in rankings but shows potential with new additions.
