InterContinental Brisbane to Open in June After Transformation

IHG Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with ISPT, will open InterContinental Brisbane in June, transforming the former Hilton Brisbane on Elizabeth Street into a luxury hotel and dining destination. The property, located in Brisbane’s Central Business District and designed by renowned Modernist architect Harry Seidler, will feature 321 guest rooms, four restaurants and bars, and extensive conference and event facilities. This two-year renovation aims to integrate the hotel with the Wintergarden and Regent Theatre, creating a vibrant precinct that blends retail, dining, entertainment, and hospitality. The project is part of IHG’s broader expansion in Australasia, marking its third InterContinental property in Queensland and reinforcing Brisbane’s emergence as a dynamic hospitality hub. The revitalized venue will honor the building’s architectural legacy while elevating its luxury offerings for both leisure and business travelers. The initiative reflects confidence in Brisbane’s growing tourism sector and infrastructure investment ahead of major events like the 2032 Olympics.
