Puy du Fou initiates public consultation for £600m Oxfordshire theme park

Puy du Fou has initiated a public consultation for a proposed £600 million historical theme park near Bicester, Oxfordshire, which aims to immerse visitors in British history through four period villages and 13 live shows. The project will also feature three themed hotels, restaurants, a conference centre, and an extensive natural landscape including ponds, gardens, and over 20,000 new trees. CEO Olivier Strebelle emphasized the park's potential to create a world-class destination while being considerate of local communities, estimating it will generate 700 direct jobs and up to 2,000 additional jobs in the surrounding area. Three consultation events are scheduled for February in Bicester, Banbury, and Bucknell to gather community feedback. Puy du Fou currently operates parks in France and Spain and is looking to expand its historical theme park concept to the UK market. The company aims to submit a planning application following the consultation process.
