Google Expands AI Virtual Try-On and Shopping Tools
Google has expanded its AI-powered virtual try-on tool, previously available only in Search Labs, making it widely accessible across Google Search, Shopping, and Images for U.S. users. The tool allows shoppers to upload full-body photos, visualize clothing on themselves, and now save and share their favorite looks, enhancing the individualization of the online shopping experience. Google has also updated its price-tracking tools, enabling customized alerts for size, color, and price preferences. Later this year, Google plans to launch AI Mode, which uses generative AI and the Shopping Graph to create outfit and home decor inspirations from text prompts and connect users with visually similar real products. These features aim to make online shopping more personalized, visually engaging, and interactive. Both consumers and e-commerce marketers are expected to benefit, with the latter needing to focus on high-quality images and competitive pricing.
