Investigation Underway After House Explosion in Garden City, MI
An investigation is ongoing into a house explosion in Garden City, Michigan, which occurred on Thursday evening. Fire crews responded to the scene at approximately 6:20 p.m. and confirmed that the one-story home was engulfed in smoke but found no occupants inside. Garden City Fire Chief Randy Keen noted that the explosion caused significant damage to the house but did not affect neighboring homes, and there were no injuries reported. DTE Energy disconnected gas and electrical services to the property, while the cause of the explosion remains undetermined. Notably, this home was previously involved in a case of animal hoarding, where 32 neglected cats were rescued five years ago. Authorities are also investigating a vehicle that was seen leaving the scene shortly after the explosion.
