Communities Commemorate Holocaust Victims Nationwide

Various events are being held to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day, which falls on January 27, marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. In Lansing, a traveling exhibit focusing on the American response to the Holocaust will be open at the Library of Michigan until February 22. Dudley College hosted a commemorative event featuring Holocaust survivor Hedi Argent, who shared her harrowing experiences. In Hornsey, a candleholder tribute was unveiled to honor local survivor Naomi Blake, emphasizing her legacy and artistic contributions. A 17th annual brunch at Sinai Temple celebrated the resilience of Holocaust survivors, bringing together community members to honor their stories. Additionally, Dorchester will hold a public event with readings and poetry to promote reflection and a commitment to a better future, aligning with this year's theme.
