Kasparas Jakucionis Out for Penn State Game

Illinois freshman guard Kasparas Jakucionis has been ruled out for the upcoming game against Penn State due to a left forearm injury. Despite attempting to warm up with the team, he was unable to participate and was replaced in the starting lineup by freshman forward Will Riley. Jakucionis has been a key player for the Illini, averaging 16.4 points, 5.4 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game this season, and was recently named to the Midseason Top 25 Watch List for the John R. Wooden Award. The 13th-ranked Illinois team enters the game with an 11-3 record, while Penn State has a 12-3 record and will also be without a key player, Puff Johnson. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT at State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois.
