Thousands Honor Gaudreau Brothers at NJ 5K

Thousands gathered at Washington Lake Park in Sewell, New Jersey, for the inaugural Gaudreau Family 5K and Family Fun Day, honoring Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, both of whom were killed by a suspected drunk driver in 2024. The sold-out in-person event and over 1,300 virtual participants aimed to raise funds for an adaptive playground at Archbishop Damiano School, where their mother Jane works. NHL players joined family and friends in remembering the brothers' kindness and community impact. The Gaudreau family expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, finding comfort in community solidarity and symbolic moments like a rainbow that appeared during the event. Fundraising efforts included an auction of NHL memorabilia. The event highlighted the ongoing commitment to preserving the brothers’ legacies through charitable work.
