On Friday, a series of militant attacks in Khyber district, Pakistan, resulted in the deaths of at least three security personnel and injuries to a dozen others. The attacks, involving the banned Gul Bahadur group and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), marked an expansion of their operations from traditional strongholds into Khyber. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that four militants were also killed during the clashes. This violence is part of a broader escalation in extremism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, with Pakistan's military reaffirming its commitment to combating terrorism. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the military's efforts in the region while the government has recently classified the TTP as Fitna al Khawarij, increasing the total number of banned organizations to 81. Pakistan continues to express concerns over the TTP's operations from Afghanistan, despite the Taliban government's denials of foreign militant presence.
