Rasmus Hojgaard Nears Ryder Cup Spot After British Masters Midway

Rasmus Hojgaard is in a strong position to secure the final automatic qualification spot on Europe's Ryder Cup team after the halfway point of the British Masters at The Belfry. The Danish golfer, currently tied for 14th place and five strokes off the lead, needs to finish tied for 29th or better to surpass Shane Lowry, who holds the sixth automatic qualifying position but is not competing in the British Masters. Other automatic qualifiers include Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre, and Tyrrell Hatton. Marcel Siem leads the tournament, with Matt Fitzpatrick close behind as Hojgaard aims to improve his standing during the weekend rounds.
