Disney+ Launches Immersive Dive-In Pool Theater Series in Los Angeles

Disney+ is collaborating with Swimply to launch the Disney+ Dive-in Theater, an innovative summer event in Los Angeles that transforms private pools into immersive movie-themed environments. As part of the Disney+ Throwback campaign, select pools will be designed to reflect classic films such as Alien, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and Camp Rock, offering guests unique interactive experiences like swimming in a giant bowl of cereal or floating in fog-filled water. This initiative aims to connect fans with beloved movies in intimate, exclusive settings that create lasting memories, moving beyond traditional outdoor screenings. Fans can enter for a chance to attend through the Swimply app or website, with the event running from late July through August. Disney+ Executive Vice President Samantha Rosenberg emphasized the public's desire for real-world experiences tied to their favorite stories, while Swimply CEO Bunim Laskin highlighted the local escapism and magical transport these events provide. This collaboration marks a novel fusion of streaming content and physical experience, enhancing engagement with Disney+ nostalgic programming.
