Flyers’ Garnet Hathaway Launches Engine 19 IPA to Support First Responders in Pennsylvania, Delaware

Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway has collaborated with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Flyers Charities to launch Engine 19 IPA, a citrus-forward pale ale designed to support first responders and their families through Hathaway’s Hath’s Heroes initiative. The 6.5% ABV beer, featuring Simcoe, Chinook, and Citra hops with aromas of pine, citrus, passion fruit, and toffee, was developed over a year with input from Hathaway and his wife Lindsay alongside Dogfish Head’s brewing team. The beer will debut at a public launch event on September 10 at PHS Beer Garden on South Street and will be available in Pennsylvania and Delaware, including at Flyers home games, while supplies last. Proceeds from Engine 19 IPA will benefit nonprofits supporting first responders, such as Families Behind the Badge, reinforcing the community support focus of the project. The Flyers’ content team has produced a behind-the-scenes video, “Engine 19: Behind the Beer,” to document the collaboration, which is available on the team’s YouTube channel. This initiative represents a blend of community engagement, charitable giving, and craft beer culture, strengthening bonds between the Flyers, local first responders, and fans.
