Rockies Place Infielder Thairo Estrada On 10-Day Injured List With Right Hamstring Strain
The Colorado Rockies have placed infielder Thairo Estrada on the 10-day injured list due to a strained right hamstring, marking his third stint on the injured list this season after previously dealing with a fractured wrist and a sprained thumb. Estrada, who is batting .253 with three home runs and 21 RBIs over 39 games in 2025, is expected to miss upcoming games including one against the Toronto Blue Jays. In response, the Rockies recalled infielder Adael Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque, who is expected to start at second base and provide infield depth alongside players like Kyle Farmer, Orlando Arcia, and Tyler Freeman. Estrada's injury occurred while running out a grounder and he was seen on crutches post-game, suggesting he might need more than the 10-day IL duration to recover. Amador has shown promise with a .270 batting average and seven home runs in Triple-A, though he is batting .184 in the majors this season. The Rockies are adjusting their lineup as they manage Estrada's injury and its impact on their infield rotation.
