Tennessee Sen. Ken Yager Pleads No Contest Georgia DUI, Receives Supervised Probation
Tennessee state Sen. Ken Yager, R-Kingston, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of DUI Less Safe following an incident on December 3, 2024, in Glynn County, Georgia. The other charges against him, including hit and run, duty to stop at the scene of an accident, and failure to yield, were dismissed. Yager has completed 40 hours of community service and DUI school as part of his plea agreement and was sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation with fines and fees. He admitted to drinking a couple of glasses of wine before the crash, failed a sobriety test, and blew a 0.14 on a breathalyzer test. In a public statement, Yager expressed remorse, taking full responsibility for his actions, apologizing to his family, friends, and constituents, and vowing never to repeat the behavior. He emphasized his commitment to serving his Tennessee constituents and expressed gratitude for the forgiveness he has received.
