Delta Flight Collides with Another Aircraft in Atlanta

A Delta Air Lines Airbus A350, bound for Tokyo, clipped the tail of Endeavor Air Flight 5526, which was preparing to depart for Lafayette, Louisiana, at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Tuesday morning. The incident, occurring shortly after 10 a.m., resulted in significant damage to the smaller plane, with its tail being torn off, but fortunately, no injuries were reported among the 221 passengers on the Delta flight and the 56 on the Endeavor flight. Delta is working to rebook affected passengers and is cooperating with investigations led by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board. Social media accounts from passengers described the event as terrifying, with one reporting loud bangs and metal scraping sounds during the collision. The FAA confirmed that there will be no additional operational changes at the airport as a result of this incident, which is under investigation. This incident follows a recent safety incident at Delta's maintenance facility that resulted in fatalities, raising concerns about operational safety at the airline.
