TBI Arrests Four in Johnson City Prostitution Investigation

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Human Trafficking Unit, in collaboration with the Johnson City Police Department's Special Victims Unit, arrested four individuals linked to two Johnson City businesses—Mi Mi’s Foot Massage and Aroma Therapy Spa—on charges related to prostitution and impersonation of licensed professionals. The investigation commenced following a tip received through the Tennessee Human Trafficking Hotline concerning possible human trafficking and other illegal activities. Those arrested include Hanmei Zhao, Chunhua Wang, and Tang Yingping, each charged with impersonation, exposure of an erogenous area, and prostitution, and Manmei Wang, charged with impersonation and promoting prostitution. All four were booked into the Washington County Detention Center with bonds ranging from $6,000 to $7,000. Authorities emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and highlighted the broader issue of human trafficking in Tennessee, particularly in Middle Tennessee's Rutherford and Davidson counties due to their strategic transportation locations. Law enforcement agencies continue to urge the public to report suspicious activities to combat trafficking effectively.
