Homicide Investigation Underway in Hopewell

The city of Hopewell has witnessed a troubling surge in gun violence, with multiple recent shootings leading to arrests and fatalities. Dedric Ramon Taggart Jr. was arrested for a July 27 shooting at a convenience store, part of a string of eight shootings since July 21 that resulted in three deaths. Among the deceased is Conell Gholson, who was shot on August 18; Dallas Lee Snydor has been charged with his murder. Additionally, Marlone Ramone Peterson was charged in an unrelated shooting on August 4, while Garrett Les Horton was arrested for a hit-and-run incident on August 15. The police continue to investigate these incidents and are seeking information from the public to aid in their inquiries.
