Richardson Electronics Plans $8.5M Expansion, 54 Jobs La Fox, Illinois

Richardson Electronics Ltd. is investing over $8.5 million to expand its manufacturing operations in La Fox, Illinois, focusing on next-generation battery energy storage system (BESS) technologies. Supported by the Reimagining Energy and Vehicles in Illinois (REV Illinois) program, the expansion will retain 190 existing jobs and create 54 new full-time positions. The investment aims to enhance electric grid stability, address brownouts, reduce electricity costs, and support renewable energy integration. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker emphasized the state's commitment to building a clean energy economy and attracting investments through competitive incentives and a skilled workforce. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity highlighted the expansion as evidence of the state's leadership in clean energy innovation and advanced manufacturing. Richardson Electronics plans to upgrade equipment and infrastructure to support research, development, and production of these advanced energy storage products at its Illinois facility.
