Verizon Acquires Frontier Communications for $20 Billion

Verizon has announced its acquisition of Frontier Communications for $20 billion in an all-cash deal, aimed at enhancing its competitive position in the telecommunications market. The deal, which values Frontier at $38.50 per share, represents a 44% premium over its recent share price and is expected to close within 18 months, pending regulatory approval. This acquisition will significantly expand Verizon's fiber network, combining its 7.4 million Fios connections with Frontier's 2.2 million fiber subscribers, reaching a total of 10 million customers across various states. CEO Hans Vestberg highlighted that the merger will create at least $500 million in cost synergies within three years.
