Trader Joe's, Buc-ee's Opening New Locations in June

Several grocery and convenience store chains are expanding their presence in the United States in 2025. Trader Joe's will open its first store in Tracy, California, on June 13, marking a significant milestone for the city's growth and providing residents with a new shopping option closer to home. Buc-ee's, known for its large convenience stores and famous Beaver Nuggets, is opening its first Mississippi location in Pass Christian on June 9, featuring 126 gas pumps and 24 electric vehicle charging stations. Wegmans is also expanding with new stores in the northeast and mid-Atlantic regions, including locations in Rockville, Maryland, opening on June 25, Norwalk, Connecticut, and Lake Grove, New York. These expansions reflect the broader growth in the supermarket sector, which employs 5.5 million Americans and has seen a steady increase in the number of stores nationwide. Meanwhile, the Sheffield-based Urban Pitta chain plans to open a new location in Crookes, England, continuing its local expansion.
