Parliament standing committees

The Indian Parliament has officially constituted its department-related standing committees, with the BJP leading 11 of the 24 committees. Bhartruhari Mahtab from the BJP will chair the Finance committee, while Congress's Shashi Tharoor will head External Affairs. Other notable appointments include Radha Mohan Singh for Defence and Radha Mohan Das Agrawal for Home Affairs. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi is included in the Defence committee, but Sonia Gandhi's name is absent from any committees. Several allies of the BJP, including the TDP and Shiv Sena, will also lead committees, reflecting the coalition dynamics. Congress and other parties like DMK have secured leadership roles in various committees, including Agriculture and Consumer Affairs.
