An ostrich caused a traffic disruption in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Tuesday after it escaped from a trailer and wandered onto a busy four-lane road. Motorists reported the bird's presence around noon, prompting police and animal officials to respond. While waiting for help, drivers and bystanders attempted to coax the approximately 7-foot-tall bird off the road by offering food and gently nudging it. The ostrich was one of several being transported by an out-of-state traveler, who assisted in capturing the bird and getting it back into the trailer.
