Barcelona Defender Clement Lenglet Joins Atletico Madrid After Contract Termination

Clement Lenglet has officially terminated his contract with FC Barcelona and signed a three-year deal with Atletico Madrid, following a season-long loan at the Spanish capital club. The agreement includes a salary reduction, with Barcelona covering part of his wages, freeing up space for new signings and contract renewals. Lenglet, who joined Barcelona in 2018, has been loaned to Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Atletico Madrid over the past three seasons and has made 160 appearances for Barca. Recently, he was released from France's national team due to a hip injury sustained during the Nations League and will now focus on playing for Atletico ahead of the Club World Cup. Meanwhile, Barcelona fears losing rising midfielder Fermin Lopez amid interest from Chelsea and the Saudi Pro League, though the club is open to selling him if he requests a transfer for economic or sporting reasons. Additionally, Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has announced he will not play for Poland while coach Michał Probierz remains in charge, citing loss of trust and pressure from the media.
