Coalition of the Willing Plans Joint Headquarters in Paris, London for Ukraine Peacekeeping
A coalition of countries prepared to send peacekeeping troops to Ukraine has agreed to establish a multinational headquarters in Paris, which will coordinate tactical and operational activities for a post-ceasefire force. This headquarters, jointly led by the United Kingdom and France, will operate in Paris for the first year before relocating to London, with plans to also create a coordination cell in Kyiv under British leadership. The coalition aims to provide logistical and training support to help restore Ukraine's military capabilities, ensure airspace safety, and secure the Black Sea region. The group includes over 30 international partners and held a recent virtual meeting attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, and US representatives including Special Envoy General Keith Kellogg and Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal. The coalition condemned Russian President Putin's attacks and emphasized the need to maintain pressure on Russia while preparing for rapid deployment and long-term stability in Ukraine. These developments mark a significant step in coordinating international military and security support for Ukraine following any ceasefire.
