Multiple online fraud cases have recently emerged across India, highlighting the risks associated with investment scams. In Udupi, a man lost Rs 17.9 lakh after being lured into a WhatsApp group that promised high returns on stock investments, while in Coimbatore, another victim was defrauded of Rs 1.14 crore through a similar scheme. Additionally, a Mumbai businessman reported being cheated of Rs 96.5 lakh by a property dealer who failed to pay for steel products. In a separate incident, a resident of Moti Nagar lost Rs 50 lakh to a group of fraudsters who operated under the guise of a fake stock market app. The police have registered cases in all instances and are investigating the respective frauds, urging the public to exercise caution with online investments.
