Milwaukee's long-standing tradition of harvesting a Christmas tree continued with the cutting of a 64-foot Colorado Blue Spruce donated by the Yeager family. This marks the 111th year of the city's tree-lighting ceremony, second only to New York's in longevity. The tree was transported with a police escort to the Deer District outside Fiserv Forum, where it will be adorned and illuminated beginning December 5th, thanks to We Energies. This year, Black Husky Brewing will use some of the tree's boughs to create a special holiday beer, with proceeds benefiting the Milwaukee Urban Forestry Fund. The annual event not only highlights community spirit but also supports local causes through innovative partnerships.
