Air France-KLM Reduces A350F Order, Expands Cork-Amsterdam Capacity

Air France-KLM has revised its order for Airbus A350 freighters, now set to acquire six units instead of eight, with three going to Air France and three to its cargo subsidiary Martinair. This adjustment aligns with the group's ongoing hybrid cargo strategy, which integrates dedicated freighter aircraft with belly cargo from passenger planes. Despite a slight decline in freight revenue, Air France-KLM reported a strong financial performance for fiscal year 2024, with an operating profit of €1.6 billion and a 4.8% revenue increase. Additionally, the airline is enhancing capacity on its routes, including the Cork to Amsterdam route, by increasing the frequency and size of its aircraft in response to Aer Lingus exiting the service. The group is also expanding its transatlantic operations between Paris and New York, anticipating peak summer demand with significant increases in flight frequency and seating capacity. Overall, Air France-KLM is focused on fleet modernization and sustainability while capitalizing on growth opportunities in various markets.
