El Paso Mother Indicted in Toddler's Drowning

Court documents reveal that Weaver allegedly failed to supervise her son, Anthony Leo Malave, while he swam, and was reportedly absorbed in her phone at the time of the incident. Witnesses indicated that she did not respond promptly when lifeguards called for an evacuation, leading to serious questions about her attentiveness and care. The indictment also claims she did not provide her son with a life vest or CPR when needed. Following the drowning, Weaver filed a lawsuit against the city of El Paso, alleging negligence.
