Lanthimos’ Bugonia Teaser Previews October US Release

Bugonia, the upcoming film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and produced by Ari Aster, is a dark comedy starring Emma Stone as a high-powered CEO who is kidnapped by two conspiracy-obsessed young men convinced she is an alien intent on destroying Earth. The movie is an adaptation of the Korean cult classic Save the Green Planet and features a screenplay by Will Tracy, known for his work on The Menu and Succession. Jesse Plemons co-stars as one of the kidnappers, reuniting with Lanthimos after their previous collaboration. The cast also includes Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone, who has worked with Lanthimos before. Bugonia is set for a limited release in the U.S. on October 24, 2025, followed by a wider release on October 31, with a simultaneous UK release on October 31. The film continues Lanthimos' signature blend of dark, surreal, and absurd storytelling, promising a unique cinematic experience.
