Atlantic City Man Indicted for Torturing, Killing Stray Cats

Edwin Sanabia, a 26-year-old man from Atlantic City, has been indicted on multiple animal cruelty charges for allegedly luring stray and abandoned cats into his apartment using food, torturing, beating, and killing them before disposing of their bodies in a dumpster. Witnesses and a trained Humane Law Enforcement Officer documented incidents where Sanabia was seen physically abusing cats, including slapping, punching, dragging by their tails, and beating them with sticks while they sought shelter nearby. Sanabia also faces separate charges related to aggravated assault and weapons offenses after an altercation with a neighbor involving a knife and indecent exposure.
