Davie Shipbuilding Announces Major Upgrade in Quebec

Chantier Davie Canada Inc. has announced a transformative partnership with Pearlson & Pearlson Inc. and Construction Dinamo Inc., aimed at modernizing its shipyard in Lévis, Quebec, to better align with Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) and support the Icebreaker Collaboration Effort (ICE Pact). This ambitious project, supported by CAD $519 million from the Québec government, includes plans for six new buildings, the refurbishment of five existing structures, waterfront upgrades, and the installation of advanced construction technologies. The modernization is critical for the production of seven heavy icebreakers and two hybrid ferries, enhancing Davie's position as North America's most advanced shipbuilding facility. The collaboration with Pearlson leverages its expertise in shipyard design, while Dinamo will oversee construction and supervision services for key elements of the upgrade. This initiative is expected to create hundreds of jobs and expand Davie's workforce significantly.
