WestJet Announces Calgary-Mexico City Flights
WestJet has announced the reintroduction of non-stop service between Calgary and Mexico City, starting May 14, 2025, operating five times a week. This route, last served in 2018, aims to enhance trade and tourism between the two countries and provide greater access to one of North America's largest consumer markets. Daniel Fajardo, WestJet's VP of Network and Schedule Planning, emphasized that this service will enable more Western Canadians to explore Mexico's culture while benefiting local businesses through increased cargo capacity. The WestJet Group will serve 13 cities in Mexico from 24 Canadian cities, continuing to lead in non-stop routes between the two nations. The airline's partnership with Aeromexico also allows seamless connections to various Mexican destinations. Overall, this new route is expected to boost Calgary's position as a key hub in the airline's global network.
