Dodgers Secure Three Fan-Elected All-Star Starters First Time Since 1980

The Los Angeles Dodgers will have three starters in the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, marking the first time in 45 years the team has had that many fan-elected starters. Shohei Ohtani leads as the National League designated hitter, joined by catcher Will Smith and first baseman Freddie Freeman, while other Dodgers finalists such as Mookie Betts, Tommy Edman, and Max Muncy were not voted as starters but may still be reserves. The Detroit Tigers also have three starters—second baseman Gleyber Torres and outfielders Riley Greene and Javier Báez—matching the Dodgers' representation in the All-Star lineup. The National League starters also include Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker from the Chicago Cubs, with other notable starters such as Francisco Lindor and Manny Machado. In the American League, Seattle's Cal Raleigh, Toronto's Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and rookie Jacob Wilson among others were voted as starters, with Wilson becoming only the second rookie shortstop to start in an All-Star Game. The All-Star Game will be held on July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta, with reserves and pitchers to be announced soon.
