NASCAR Plans Annual Races at Bowman Gray Stadium, Winston-Salem Starting 2026

NASCAR is set to return to the historic Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the 2026 Cook Out Clash after a successful inaugural event in 2025, which was the first Cup Series race there since 1971. Chase Elliott, NASCAR’s most popular driver, won the 2025 race and praised the enthusiastic, passionate crowd and the upgraded racing experience compared to previous venues. The quarter-mile track, known as "The Madhouse," offers bumper-to-bumper action and has a storied history with legendary drivers like Bobby Allison and the Petty family. NASCAR officials and city leaders expressed strong support for the 2026 event, highlighting the partnership with Winston-Salem State University and the local community’s enthusiasm. Meanwhile, NASCAR is also preparing for its 35th annual race at Sonoma Raceway in California, featuring multiple series and notable drivers, including Kyle Larson and Shane van Gisbergen, highlighting NASCAR’s continued presence in diverse racing venues.
