Four Night Stalkers Killed in Washington Black Hawk Crash
The U.S. Army identified four members of the 4th Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (the “Night Stalkers”) who were killed when an MH‑60 Black Hawk crashed during a routine training flight near Joint Base Lewis‑McChord/Summit Lake in Thurston County, Washington, around 9 p.m. on Sept. 17. They were named as Chief Warrant Officer 3 Andrew Cully, 35; Chief Warrant Officer 3 Andrew Kraus, 39; Sgt. Donavon Scott; and Sgt. Jadalyn Good; two were from Washington, one from Florida and one from Missouri. The crash occurred in hard‑to‑reach terrain and ignited a wildfire, and deputies who located the scene were unable to continue rescue efforts as the area burned; the soldiers were later presumed dead. The Army has described the incident as an “aviation mishap” and said the cause remains under investigation. Unit commanders praised the soldiers’ dedication and communities and unit members have shared remembrances and links to support the families of the fallen.
