Blackhawks Sign Top Pick Anton Frondell
The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Anton Frondell, their No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, to a three-year, entry-level contract worth $2.925 million total. Frondell, an 18-year-old Swedish forward, tallied 25 points in 29 games for Djurgarden, helping the club secure promotion to the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He also played a key role in Sweden's silver medal run at the 2025 IIHF World U18 Championship and was ranked the top European skater by NHL Central Scouting. Although the contract starts immediately, Frondell is expected to spend at least one more season in Sweden, but may attend the Blackhawks' training camp. Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson praised Frondell's adaptable and physical play, citing his strong NHL potential. The team has not yet made a final decision regarding his immediate integration into the NHL roster.
