Indian men's hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh has made headlines as the most expensive player in the Hockey India League (HIL) auction, joining Soorma Hockey Club for Rs 78 lakh. Known for his exceptional drag-flicking skills, he has scored 205 goals in 234 international appearances, contributing significantly to India's Olympic success. The auction, which marks the return of HIL after seven years, also saw vice-captain Hardik Singh being signed by UP Rudras for Rs 70 lakh, highlighting the competitive nature of the league.
