CBS Announces 'Boston Blue' Spinoff with Wahlberg

CBS has announced a new series, 'Boston Blue', a spinoff of the beloved show 'Blue Bloods', which concluded after 14 seasons in December 2024. The series will see Donnie Wahlberg reprising his role as Danny Reagan, who transitions from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department and partners with Detective Lena Peters, the daughter of a prominent law enforcement family. Originally conceived by writers Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis as a separate project, the idea was adapted to fit into the 'Blue Bloods' universe due to Wahlberg's ties to Boston and the show's success. Jerry Bruckheimer, along with Wahlberg, will serve as executive producers. The show is set for the 2025-26 season, and CBS is also exploring other potential spinoffs, reflecting the enduring popularity of the 'Blue Bloods' franchise.
