Son Heung-min Named Asia's Player of the Year

Son Heung-min has been awarded Asia’s International Player of the Year by the Asian Football Confederation for a record fourth time, recognizing his exceptional performance with Tottenham Hotspur and the South Korean national team. Son, who has previously won this award in 2015, 2017, and 2019, is celebrated for his scoring prowess in the Premier League, where he has become Spurs' all-time assists leader. Also at the ceremony, Australia's Ellie Carpenter was honored as the first recipient of the AFC women’s international award, while Qatar's Akram Afif and Japan's Kiko Seike received top player honors for their contributions to their respective national teams. Afif led Qatar to an Asian Cup victory, scoring eight goals, while Seike played a key role in her club's success before moving to Brighton. The awards ceremony also recognized South Korean Park Youn-jeong as the AFC Women's Coach of the Year.
