Gregg Wallace Cleared of Serious Allegations in Probe
Gregg Wallace has been dismissed from his role as MasterChef presenter following a nine-month investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior, with over 50 individuals coming forward. An independent inquiry commissioned by Banijay UK and conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin cleared Wallace of the most serious allegations, but he admitted to and apologized for using inappropriate language and humor between 2005 and 2018. Specific accusations included groping, pulling his trousers down in front of colleagues, and making inappropriate sexual comments across multiple shows and years. Wallace has denied all claims of sexually harassing behavior and criticized the BBC and BBC News for sensationalized reporting. The BBC is set to release only a summary of the investigation, which Wallace claims is damaging to his reputation. Some former colleagues, such as Vicky Pattison, have expressed support, but most high-profile figures have remained silent or critical.
