Red Panda Suffers Severe Injury at WNBA Cup
Red Panda, the renowned halftime performer Rong Niu, suffered a severe fracture to her left wrist after falling from her unicycle due to a damaged pedal during the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final between the Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx in Minneapolis. The pedal was damaged in transit, leading to her fall at the start of her act. Niu spent 11 hours in a Minneapolis hospital, underwent a procedure with two Lynx staff members present, and will require follow-up surgery from an orthopedic specialist. This injury marks the second fracture at the same spot on her left wrist. Red Panda expressed gratitude for the widespread support from the basketball community. Her team remains optimistic about her recovery and hopes for her return to performing in the next NBA season.
