Chinese Astronauts Complete Tiangong Mission
The Shenzhou-18 crew, consisting of Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu, successfully returned to Earth after a six-month mission aboard the Tiangong space station, landing in Inner Mongolia on November 4. Prior to their departure, they completed a handover to the incoming Shenzhou-19 crew, which includes China's first female spaceflight engineer, Wang Haoze. The Shenzhou-18 mission featured critical research, including studies on ancient microbes and a record-setting spacewalk. China's ambitious space program continues to evolve, with plans to establish a moon base by 2030 and keep the Tiangong station operational for at least a decade. The ongoing crew rotation reflects China's commitment to maintaining a sustainable presence in space, enhancing its capabilities for future lunar missions. The Shenzhou-19 crew will also engage in scientific experiments and preparations for future space endeavors.
