BBC Withdraws Jay Blades' Show After Charges

Jay Blades, the presenter of BBC's 'The Repair Shop', has been charged with controlling and coercive behavior towards his estranged wife, Lisa Zbozen. Following the charges, the BBC pulled a repeat of his show 'David and Jay's Touring Toolshed' from its schedule. Blades appeared in court on September 13, where he was bailed to appear again on October 11. The charges reportedly involve allegations of emotional and physical abuse during their 18-month marriage, which ended in May 2023. In light of the situation, Blades has also resigned from his position as chancellor of Buckinghamshire New University. Despite the controversy, a new tour for 'The Repair Shop' featuring Blades was announced just hours before the charges became public.
