15-Year-Old Student Injured in Dearborn Accident
A 15-year-old student from Fordson High School was critically injured in a vehicle-pedestrian accident on Friday morning at around 7:35 a.m. near the intersection of Ford and Schaefer roads in Dearborn. The girl was struck by a westbound black Jeep Cherokee while crossing the road, and immediate medical assistance was rendered before she was transported to a nearby hospital. Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin expressed condolences to the victim's family and emphasized the need for driver vigilance, especially in school zones. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which is also seeking witnesses. Grief counseling services have been made available to students and staff at Fordson High School as the community processes the incident.
