Dajuan Patrick Evans, 32, has been charged with 13 felonies after allegedly barricading himself in a Farmington Hills home and firing at police following a domestic violence incident on September 15. The situation began when police responded to a 911 call from the victim's child, reporting that Evans had assaulted the woman and threatened her life. Upon arrival, officers were met with gunfire as Evans pointed a rifle at them, prompting a standoff. The two children managed to escape, and a sniper from the SWAT team ultimately shot Evans, who is currently hospitalized and in custody. Prosecutor Karen McDonald emphasized the bravery of law enforcement in responding to the dangerous situation, stating that public safety is their top priority. If convicted, Evans could face significant prison time, including life for the assault charges.
