Star Wars: The Old Republic is set to launch its major update, Galactic Threads, in December 2024, with story missions following in 2025. The update picks up from the Desperate Defiance storyline, where players will race against time to confront Darth Malgus and uncover the Hidden Chain's true intentions while exploring familiar locations like Hoth, Tatooine, and Nul’s temple of Elom. New features include Dynamic Encounters, which introduce spontaneous challenges on planets, and a new lair boss, the Propagator Core XR-53. Additionally, the game will see significant art updates across various planets and character models to enhance visual fidelity. Items inspired by the upcoming Star Wars Skeleton Crew series will also be available. The developers have emphasized their commitment to maintaining high-quality narrative standards as they continue to expand the game's content.
