National pistol coach Samaresh Jung faces a sudden eviction from his home in Delhi's Civil Lines area, following a notice from the Land and Development Office (LNDO) citing that the property belongs to the Ministry of Defence. Jung, who returned from the Paris Olympics to this disheartening news, has been given only 48 hours to vacate, despite having lived there for 75 years. He criticized the abrupt notice and requested at least two months to relocate. The demolition affects 200 families, and the Delhi High Court will hear the case on Monday. Jung, who has contributed significantly to India's shooting success, including coaching Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker, has expressed his distress and appealed for a dignified exit. The legal dispute over the land has been ongoing, with the High Court ruling in July that the area falls under the Ministry of Defence's jurisdiction.
