A British passenger fell overboard from Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas near Croatia, prompting an extensive search and rescue operation. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, around 4:30 AM local time, during a seven-day cruise from Greece to Croatia. Despite efforts involving ships, planes, and the Croatian Coast Guard, the search was officially called off after several days with no results. Authorities extended the search multiple times due to the warm water temperature, which allowed for a greater chance of survival. Passengers on the ship reported hearing emergency messages and witnessing rescue efforts throughout the day. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is in touch with the cruise company and ready to support British nationals overseas.
